The Orendaverse Project is a soon-to-be non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping authors, artists, and creators through the challenges of publishing their work and reaching an audience through its imprint, Starwhale Books. Visit this page to learn more about the Orendaverse.
origin of our name
The scent of rain falling in the desert, sparks of aether trailing from the engines of skyships, pine smoke drifting from the coals of a dying campfire, and whales flying between the stars across the far reaches of space. We chose our name, Starwhale Books, to express the feeling of magic, light, and the unknown that exists in the far reaches of our 'verse. The same feeling that we hope the books we publish will bring to the world, and spark in our readers' minds.
diversity and inclusivity
At Starwhale Books we desire to work with writers, artists, and creators from any and all backgrounds, ethnicities, races, colors, religions, beliefs, gender identities, and sexual orientations. We believe that stories, art, and magic are universal concepts with limitless forms of expression, and we want to portray as many perspectives of these concepts as there are stars in the sky.

self-publishing services
Though we are closed for submissions at this time, we are offering our services on a case-by-case basis at an hourly rate for authors who need help self-publishing their book. This includes illustration, cover design, editing, layout, book design, as well as assistance with the self-publishing process such as getting an ISBN, applying for a Library of Congress Control Number, understanding Amazon's publishing requirements, and setting up an author platform through Amazon's Author Page, Goodreads, Facebook, Instagram, and a custom website.
